How Much Does Custom Window Signage Cost in Adelaide?

How much does custom window signage cost in Adelaide? The honest answer: it depends on two things -- how much glass you're covering and which type of film or graphic goes on it. Rather than quote you a vague range, Gigantic Signs lets you price your exact windows instantly. We build the lot from our Kent Town workshop, so you pay for precisely the glass you want to brand.
We've been putting graphics on Adelaide shopfronts for over 30 years -- your glass is prime advertising space that you already own. Everything is printed and finished at our Kent Town facility, so we know what holds up to the Adelaide sun and what peels by summer's end. Browse the full range on our building signage page, but if you just want a number, price your exact windows below.
What types of window signage are there?
"Window signage" isn't one product -- it's a handful of different films and prints, and which one you choose is the biggest single thing that moves the price. Here are the options an Adelaide business actually chooses between:
- Cut vinyl lettering -- your business name, hours and phone number cut from coloured vinyl and applied straight to the glass. The cleanest, lowest-cost option because there's no full-panel print. The classic shopfront job.
- Printed window graphics -- full-colour printed vinyl for logos, imagery, promotions and seasonal campaigns. Covers as much or as little of the pane as you like.
- One-way vision (perforated film) -- a printed graphic on the outside that your staff and customers can still see out through from the inside. Perfect for covering a whole window without going dark indoors.
- Frosted and etched films -- a translucent finish for privacy and a premium look, used on office glass, meeting rooms and bathroom windows. The most popular privacy option in Adelaide.
Frosting is a big enough topic on its own that we've written a dedicated guide -- if privacy film is what you're after, our breakdown of how much window frosting costs in Adelaide covers the film types and what sets the price, and our overview of window frosting and one-way vision graphics walks through both privacy options side by side.
What moves the price?
Once you've picked a film type, a handful of factors decide where your job lands. This is exactly what the calculator asks you, so knowing them up front means you can price it in seconds:
- Glass area -- the single biggest driver. More square metres of film and print means more material and more time on the glass. A single door pane is a quick job; a full row of shopfront windows is a bigger one.
- Film or graphic type -- cut lettering uses the least material, a full-colour printed graphic more, and one-way perforated film is a specialist product again. The type sets the base rate per square metre.
- Coverage -- a small logo and some lettering covers a fraction of the glass; a full wrap of the whole window is the most film and the most fitting time.
- Number of panes -- ten small panels take longer to measure, cut and apply than one big sheet of glass of the same total area, because every pane is a separate fit.
- Access and height -- glass at ground level is straightforward; upper-storey or awkward-access windows may need extra gear and time.
Why we publish an instant calculator instead of ranges
Most sign shops make you fill in a form and wait for a callback before you find out what it costs. We think that's backwards. When you're deciding whether to brand your windows, you want a real number for your actual glass -- not a "prices start from" line that means nothing. So instead of publishing a range we can't stand behind, Gigantic Signs publishes the calculator itself. You enter your window dimensions and film type and get a price on the spot, with no email gate and no salesperson in the loop. Price it, sleep on it, come back and price a different option -- no pressure, no waiting.
How to measure your windows in 2 minutes
You don't need a professional measure-up to get an accurate price. A tape measure and two minutes is enough to run the calculator:
- Measure each pane -- width across and height up, in millimetres or centimetres, for every piece of glass you want covered. Measure the glass itself, not the frame.
- Count the panels -- note how many separate panes there are. Three shopfront windows and a door is four panes, even if the graphic reads as one design across them.
- Decide the coverage -- full pane, a band across the middle, or just a logo and some lettering. This is the difference between a wrap and a few cut letters.
- Pick the film -- solid printed graphic, one-way vision so you can still see out, or frosted for privacy.
Punch those into the calculator above and you've got your price. If the numbers are awkward or the job's a big one, send them through and our Kent Town team will check the measure and confirm the fit.
A quick Adelaide example
A physiotherapy clinic on a busy Adelaide main road came to Gigantic Signs with a blank glass frontage and a privacy problem -- patients on the treatment tables were in full view of the footpath. We frosted the lower two-thirds of the glass for privacy, added their logo and services in printed graphics up top where passers-by would read it, and put one-way vision on the entry doors so reception could still see the street. One measure-up, three film types, one afternoon on the glass -- and they'd priced the bulk of it themselves online before we ever spoke.
Frequently asked questions
Can I see out through printed window signage?
With one-way vision film, yes. It's a perforated print that shows a full graphic on the outside while you see straight out from the inside. A solid printed graphic or frosted film blocks the view, which is the point when you want privacy.
How long does window signage last?
Quality printed and cut films on shopfront glass typically last several years in Adelaide conditions when fitted properly. We use UV-rated materials so the colour holds through summer, and the film comes off cleanly when you want to update it.
Do you install, or just supply the graphics?
We do both. Most Adelaide shopfront jobs we measure, print and fit ourselves so the glass detailing is clean. If you'd rather apply cut lettering yourself, we can supply the graphics -- just ask when you order.
